You just made my hair awesome.

Now that Lost is on hiatus, thank goodness for new episodes of How I Met Your Mother. I finally sat down with my DVR last night and caught up on the last six episodes, culminating in the one with Britney Spears' much ballyhooed guest appearance. She wasn't terrible, I suppose, but her role and her character seemed so contrived. Obviously her appearance was a ratings grab and nothing more, and it worked, which all but ensures another season of the show. As a means to an end, I can live with that. But watching her really makes you appreciate good acting.

There are two things I want to mention about the last two episodes.

In the St. Patrick's Day episode where Ted and Barney are at the bar, did anyone else catch when Ted bumped into that girl in the middle of the episode? Does anyone else think that that's the mother?

In this week's episode, the two-minute date was vintage Ted, and the show used Big Star's "Thirteen" (probably my favorite song of all-time) perfectly. I almost cried, and I definitely watched that scene about 5 times. It might be my favorite episode of the series so far. Crazy how Sarah Chalke's character almost went to Alicia Silverstone. Too bad she's not the mother, though.

dude, i think either jeric and i deleted the St. Patrick's Day episode off the DVR or we just didn't watch it not realizing it was a new one. i thought THIS ONE was the newest one!! SO AGGRAVATING!!! I wanna see the mother!!

And dude, i totally thought of you during the 2 minute date. why? BECAUSE YOU ARE TED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god, that scene solidified it.

Oh man, you guys missed some serious foreshadowing! The yellow umbrella came back into play!

As much as I would like to be Ted, no way could I ever come up with something that genius and romantic. Thanks though!

They're putting a lot of red herrings I think. Sarah Chalke also mentions St. Patrick's Day and how she "left early".

Also, apparently Britney approached the show to do it, and the character was already written I think. I mean, yeah it was a ratings grab, and I'm ok with that. I worried it would be jumping the shark, but she was so unobtrusive that I didn't mind much. If only the writing was any good since they came back from the strike. I've been really disappointed in it.

Definitely a lot of red herrings. Which makes me think that the little "run in" at the bar on St. Patrick's Day isn't what I think it is, even if that's what they wanted us to think. What?

Aww, I thought the last two episodes were actually really good! I'm just glad that at the very least it looks like we'll get another season.

Hahah, do you watch Scrubs? I thought the storyline where they talked about her being too skinny was pretty on-point.

I love that outfit, though.

I wondered how they got Britney Spears' hair to look so normal.

Wasn't there an episode awhile back where Ted had a thing for some sort of doctor and she wouldn't date him because she was engaged or something? The whole episode seemed really deja-vu to me.

Yes, in "The Platinum Rule", which was the last episode before the show went on hiatus, Ted was telling everyone how he asked his doctor out and the gang told him what a terrible idea it was. Then he went on the date with her but they didn't show what happened until this week.

I wish more people would watch HIMYM!

I think that girl on the St. Patrick's Day ep was just to throw us off. He mentions his wife being at the bar, but that's just such an obvious "accident" to throw at us.

10 million people watched it this week! Highest ratings ever! Now let's see what happens post-Britney.

You know, I agree that the "accident" was almost too obvious. When it happened I rewound my DVR to watch it a couple of times... but who knows! Guess we've got at least another year of waiting.

I totally thought that... until Sarah Chalke said something about her only party in the last year being St. Patrick's Day. The only thing is I deleted it so I'm not sure I'd even recognize the girl he bumped into again.

And I loved "Thirteen" in the background, but it was kinda buried in there. They did an episode in the first season, I think, where there was little or no dialogue while the show ended on "Skyway." Good times.

My only problem with it lately is the writers are making Barney a parody of himself.

If memory serves, the chick he bumps into on St. Patrick's Day was ethnic looking, right? Wouldn't explain Ted's gringo kids. I did wonder the same thing, but they may have just thrown that in to turn the wheels in our heads.

The 2 Minute Date was soooooo amazing! Where is my Ted!?!?!!!!!! I would have LOVED Alicia in the role of the doctor. I've never been a fan of Becky Connor #2.

But can this show stop it with the guest stars already? This season has already given us Mandy Moore, Enrique Iglesias, Victoria's Secret Models, Vanessa Minnillo, freaking Britney Spears and I'm sure I'm leaving out a few. The show is great enough not to rely on distracting guest stars!!!

okay so I can't link to the evidence, but you'll just have to trust me on this.
I was just on Facebook and went to an album a girl was tagged in (blahblah). anyway, I was looking through the pictures and there is actually a guy named Michael Pop!!

It may not be the most exciting news in the world, but I basically felt obligated to tell you that someone in the world has it as their real name.
